Article 123 — Refugees and Asylum

Ireland acknowledges a duty of compassion to those fleeing genuine persecution. Asylum claims shall be assessed individually, honestly, and swiftly under Irish law. The number of those granted refuge shall not exceed Ireland’s genuine capacity to house, support, and integrate them without disadvantaging the nation. Refuge is by default temporary.
