Article 95 — The President

The President is the Head of State, elected directly by the people, and serves as the guardian of this constitution. The President shall take the oath of office established in Article 90. The President is held to the highest standard of conduct established in Article 89. The President has the power to refer any legislation to the Constitutional Court for assessment of its compatibility with this constitution before that legislation takes effect, and to refuse to sign into law any legislation found to be incompatible.
